Ides of Mud

 Sharing Spring

I went for a walk in search of Spring.   For all of you experiencing snow and cold, these warm thoughts and promises of  Spring are for you.

I wasn't alone today.  The neighbors were out

 enjoying the morning.

And this beauty found a place in the sun.

I took the path to the shore.

The trees were in bloom--Cherry and Quince.

The flowers were popping up everywhere.

Most of the wild geese have already gone home.

These three stayed behind for their friend with a broken  wing.

The rain started again in earnest.

So this old nag just headed back to the old barn.

Wishing each of you a bit of Spring in your weekend.

With Love,

Bupu

 Choosing a Wife

A man wanted to get married.  He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.

The first does a total make-over. She goes to a fancy beauty salon, gets her hair done, new make-up and buys several new outfits, and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much.
The man was impressed.

The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she presents these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much
Again, the man is impressed.

The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several times the $5,000. She gives him back his $5,000 and reinvests the remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save for their future because she loves him so much.
Obviously, the man was impressed.

The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her.

Then, he married the one with the biggest boobs.

Men are like that, you know.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer'S  research.         Think on this a second.

This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

HAVE A SENSATIONAL WEEK, EVERBODY!!

 Bupu in Fog

Fog is winter's grace, here.  I love the fog--

In the valley,

In the hills above the vineyards,

I love the fog on the river,

And especially along the seacoast...

I love the way it wraps everything in shades of pearl.

and cushions the world's sharp edges...

And brings the small craft closer home,

Sunset.  Vespers                  .

The gulls and I have found our peace, tending toward silence.

May your week be filled with loving peace,

   Bupu

All work and NO Blogging makes Bupu unhappy!

I’m alive—I think…Wow.

This is my first post this year. No wonder I’m going into blogging withdrawal.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful 2007 so far. To those of you whose comments and pm’s I have not answered, PLEASE accept my abject apologies. I will make it up to you as soon as I can.

As for my new year, it came on like gangbusters. I was prepared for once: My post-Christmas cooking binge left the family stocked with meals and desserts for the entire winter. Fortunately, on New Years’ Day, I had given myself a low-maintenance haircut—one of those that is the height of fashion among the severely retarded and the criminally insane. I prudently broke all my New Year’s resolutions immediately, so that was out of the way.

Despite having work knock on the door of my house this morning during breakfast
I’M TAKING A DAY OFF, my first this year.

Without further ado, I’m going to catch up on my fellow Streamers. I’ve missed you all.

I love you,
Bupu

 Gifts Before Christmas

This morning I found myself up well before dawn,

reflecting, in the quiet moment, on this year so nearly gone.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ve been forced to scale back and slow down.  That was NOT in my business plan!

Sometimes, we get what we need, rather than what we think  we want.   I am grateful for the gifts I’ve been given and humbled by the beauty in my world.

My old love gave found a way around my hearing impairment and gave me the gift of music for my birthday. I’ve missed the music more than I realized.

I’ve actually enjoyed my family, rather than just fitting them in.

I’ve discovered photography, thanks to the advent of digital cameras for idiots.

I’ve felt the spray of waves on my face.

I’ve found serenity in the sea.

I met a new buddy in the rain.

I have found a path to an inner peace that I never thought possible.

And tremendously important, I have found all of you here at Blogstream! May your holidays and the coming year bring you love and peace.

Thank you all for being here.

                      Love and best wishes…Bupu
